Home Renovation, Part 7

The kitchen was much bigger than anything we've lived in before, so we were off to a good start. Unfortunately major renovations have been put on hold--new countertops, new door faces, new hood for the oven, new lights, are all on their way.

Stainless steel appliances are helping the look some. However, the gas company wants to rip us off and charge $400 for hookup to the gas line right beside the oven. We're looking into the options now.

The dishwasher is fun--plays a song when the dishes are finished. I couldn't figure out why the electricity wasn't getting to it and thought we would have to call an electrician. Turns out, the switch on the wall, on the other side of the sink, operates the power to the dishwasher. Who installs a on/off for their dishwasher?!?

The dining room is a mess with "Rachel's treasures," the things from Rachel's childhood that need to be sorted and carried up to the attic.

New red "Ruby Ring" paint will spice up the "Foreclosure Beige," but never paint three coats of Behr Ultra paint onto painter's tape. Peeling the paint off with the tape set our work back an entire day.
