March showed some improvements weather-wise, but still, the temperature remained way below freezing most days (see the goofy, wide-eyed expression on my face for evidence). Toward the end of the month, we made our way into the city for St. Patrick's Day. As most of you probably know, Chicago dyes the river green (again, see picture) and has quite a few festivities, including a parade. Rachel and I then went out for corned beef and fish and chips--clogging our arteries the Irish way!
Also, over spring break I was able to devote myself to a hobby (a temporary reprieve from the thesis). The ottoman below is the outcome.
Oh, yes, and Pocky claimed it as her own (besides, we couldn't have a blog posting without at least one picture of her).
The weddings in South Carolina kept us on the road: Rachel flew in for her Aunt Terri's in February and we both made it to (brother) Jonathan's in March. I played the piano for Jonathan's wedding. Since the weddings, Aunt Terri has moved up to Moore, SC with Paul, and Jonathan and Natalie have moved into a fancy flat in the West End of Greenville. Below is Rachel's picture in Jonathan and Natalie's wedding (pale one, far left).
