Christmas in Dixie

Before leaving, Pocky poses for her Christmas portrait...

After the big drive started late, we arrived in Greenville to see our dear Aunt Sallie and visit the old Furman gang for a spectacular reunion at Stax Omega (which has the best flaming cheese in the word... sadly, nobody ordered it this time). Rachel thought she dropped her cell phone in the mall, so I went scrambling through two floors of congested pre-Christmas pedestrian traffic only to realize the phone fell into the "secret compartment" of her purse. I thought about putting Rachel in the "secret compartment" as payback.

Once in St. Matthews, Rachel's mom spoke to my home church on missions in Bangkok. She did an excellent job, and I realize she should be teaching public speaking rather than me. My grandmother and uncle were in poor health over the holidays, so we also spent time briefly with them over the break.

Christmas Day was spent at Rachel's grandparents with the newly expanded family... in numbers, not waist size. Both Rachel's aunt and brother are tying the knot with significant others this winter.

Mom Inabinet turned 50! After a fun party, I headed back with Pocky.

Rachel is still deciding if she wants to live with me again. In the meantime, her parents are hosting her in Greenville. Word on the street has it she is coming back to Evanston for classes tomorrow.

Awesome picture of Miss Rosie! Also, loved her ad in the Calhoun Times.... esp. the reference to Pea (sp?) Mooney

Ray Ray escaped from Greenville mostly unscathed we think. Consider yourself lucky we let her come back to you! We miss her already. Ken is VERY sorry he missed hanging out with the four hottest women in Wild Wing that night...but maybe next time!

Shelle and Stephie (and Jeannette!)
