After recovering from the longest summer roadtrip ever, Brandon got on a plane today for a two and a half week trip to Paris with the Northwestern Art History Department! Sadly, Pocky and I will not be joining him as he feasts on cheeses and brioches, and we must content ourselves with Evanston cafes. I start school on Monday, and Brandon won't officially start school for almost a month. He's been cramming for this trip, boning up on art and certain Parisian time periods that supposedly have some sort of influence on rhetoric. Whatever gets you on a free trip to Europe! It was doubtful that he could make the trip when he developed a ghastly ear infection that lasted the week leading up to takeoff. He's going to tour through the pain, and probably won't notice if anyone makes fun of his French while he's on pain medicine!
Brandon's birthday was an entire day of eating - we started off with cinnamon rolls and didn't finish until a midnight strawberry pie was served! For old time's sake, he did indeed wear the Shrek ears. Our little party of three had a grand time, and all of his Paris-themed gifts will be serving him well on his trip. Well, then, until we hear an update from Brandon, au revoir!
